Nick
here. Thought I would find a way to document the epic road trip that Ryan and I
are taking across the United States. So...here it is! I'll be posting pictures,
writing posts, maybe a video or two, about what Ryan and I have been up to on
our trip as we cross the country from Georgia to California, visiting family
members along the way, exploring cities we've never been in, and generally just
enjoying life and a last hurrah before we have to settle down and get real
jobs! So kick back, relax, and follow along! (P.S. If you are along our
route and want us to stop by, let us know, we'd love to see you if we can!)
So, you're probably wondering, how did this come about?
Well,
I had told Ryan (and via Facebook for forever) how I desperately have been
wanting to get away and go travel. I didn't care where, I just needed to get
out of Georgia for a while. I just finished grad school which left me a bit
burnt out and I needed a break. Ryan would say the same thing about finishing
undergrad. We both just wanted to go do something fun. So we talked about where
we wanted to go and we mentioned a bunch of places. I thought that would be the
end of it and I didn't give it much more thought.
Little
did I know, Ryan was planning on making the trip a reality. For my birthday, I
received this printed note:

the trip became a reality!
So, where are we going you ask? Here's our itinerary!
Saturday
(Tomorrow): Atlanta to St. Louis, with a stop in Nashville along the way. We'll
be staying with my cousin Cassie and her boyfriend John.
Sunday:
Exploring St. Louis, meeting up with my Uncle Jerry and family.
Monday:
Heading to St. Joe to see most of my family, with a stop in Columbia, MO along
the way.
Tuesday-Friday:
Spending time with family in St. Joe, hanging out in KC as well.
Saturday,
June 8: On the way to Phoenix to see Ryan's sister Sharon. Stay overnight in
Amarillo, Texas.
Sunday,
June 9: Arrive in Phoenix, hang out and explore Arizona with Ryan's family.
Thursday,
June 13: Head to San Jose, California with Ryan's sisters Sharon and Megan to
stay in San Jose and see my aunt and uncle and explore the San Francisco Bay
area.
Monday,
June 17: Head back to Phoenix.
Sometime
later that week: Head out from Phoenix, stay overnight in Abilene, Texas and
Jackson, Miss. until we get back to Atlanta!
